Resumen

Se estima que 1 de cada 12 mujeres mexicanas y 1 de cada 20 hombres mexicanos mayores 50 años sufrirán una fractura de cadera a lo largo de su vida. Durante el 2010, la prevalencia en personas mayores o igual a 40 años que sufren de osteopenia y osteoporosis fue de 32.8% y 8%, respectivamente.
