“LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AS A SUPPORT TOOL FOR THE TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESS.”

Abstract

Technological development and the consolidation of the internet as a universal network for communication have made it possible to propose new scenarios in the teaching-learning process of educational institutions. Currently, students have contact with the digital space from an early age, turning them into digital natives, so they demand greater interaction and participation in educational processes. Derived from the above, digital environments allow students to access learning resources appropriate to the new global context supported by learning management systems that have been integrated as part of the structures in various educational centers around the world. The purpose of this documentary work is to carry out a bibliographic review based on the information compiled by other authors, obtaining as a conclusion that learning management systems (LMS) are platforms oriented to the transmission of knowledge in a non-face-to-face way whose objective is to manage the variables involved in the learning process digitally.
